Introduction

Farozaan Environmental Protection Organization (FEPO) is a non-governmental, non-political, non-sectarian, voluntary environmental social organization. Our areas of endeavor are preservation, protection, and restoration of the natural environment. We have the privilege to be a part of various national and international campaigns on environmental safety.

Pakistan particularly its largest city Karachi is severely facing many environmental issues including deforestation,  air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution, climate change, pesticide misuse, soil erosion, natural disasters, and desertification for decades. Climate Change is one of the most significant issues the world faces today. It has a number of disastrous effects including increasing temperatures, melting glaciers, rising sea levels, storms, floods, etc.

The trees and forests play a vital role in ending pollution. There is a genuine need to enhance tree plantation, vegetation, and greenery in Pakistan to overcome rising pollution affecting the citizens. The plantation of trees not only makes a city beautiful but also combats pollution and environmental degradation. Plantation can help to reduce carbon footprints, heat, and noise pollution.

Raising public awareness of Climate Change and environmental issues is a need of the present time and should be our collective responsibility. Activities are continued at various levels by Farozaan Environmental Protection Organization for this purpose. We struggle to ensure the active participation of various categories of citizens, school, college, and university students and teachers, corporate organizations, relevant government departments, non-government sectors, non-governmental organizations, writers, intellectuals, journalists, and professional organizations in such activities.

World Water Day 22, March 2023

World Water Day 2023 is about accelerating change to solve the water and sanitation crisis. Dysfunction throughout the water cycle is undermining progress on all major global issues, from health to hunger, gender equality to jobs, education to industry, and disasters to peace. Back in 2015, the world committed to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 as part of the 2030 Agenda – the promise that everyone would have safely managed water and sanitation by 2030. Right now, we are seriously off-track. Billions of people and countless schools, businesses, healthcare centers, farms, and factories are being held back because their human rights to water and sanitation have not yet been fulfilled.
You and your family, school, and community can make a difference by changing the way you use, consume, and manage water in your lives. Your commitments will be added to the larger-scale commitments from governments, companies, organizations, institutions, and coalitions. Together, these promises will form the Water Action Agenda, to be launched at the UN 2023 Water Conference (22-24 March) – the first event of its kind for nearly 50 years. This World Water Day is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to unite around water and accelerate progress together
