Distribution of 2500 water wheels to the residents of the remote village of Man Bai Jo Tar in Tehsil Chachro of Thar Desert and the surrounding areas was organized by “Farozaan Environmental Protection Organization” and the youth organization “every drop count” in collaboration with Pakistan Water Partnership, Thar Area Water Partnership, and Tayyaba Foundation.

These water wheels are a gift for residents of water-scarce areas. Each wheel can carry up to 40 liters of water, eight to 10 times more than a clay pot. With its simple design and revolutionary effects, it made it an easy, much faster, and much easier, journey to the water facilities, which is more often made mostly by women and young girls.

The project not only offers hygienic transportation but also hygienic storage for water and will help reduce the incidence of disease. It will also reduce the physical burden on women and children of carrying heavy loads, thereby reducing injury.

Muhammad Owais Country Coordinator Pakistan Water Partnership, Dr. Taha Shabbir Committee Member, Mehmood Alam Khalid President Farozaan Environmental Protection Organization, and Qamaruddin President of Thar Area Water Partnership participated in the project activity.

World Water Day 22, March 2023

World Water Day 2023 is about accelerating change to solve the water and sanitation crisis. Dysfunction throughout the water cycle is undermining progress on all major global issues, from health to hunger, gender equality to jobs, education to industry, and disasters to peace. Back in 2015, the world committed to Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 6 as part of the 2030 Agenda – the promise that everyone would have safely managed water and sanitation by 2030. Right now, we are seriously off-track. Billions of people and countless schools, businesses, healthcare centers, farms, and factories are being held back because their human rights to water and sanitation have not yet been fulfilled.
You and your family, school, and community can make a difference by changing the way you use, consume, and manage water in your lives. Your commitments will be added to the larger-scale commitments from governments, companies, organizations, institutions, and coalitions. Together, these promises will form the Water Action Agenda, to be launched at the UN 2023 Water Conference (22-24 March) – the first event of its kind for nearly 50 years. This World Water Day is a once-in-a-generation opportunity to unite around water and accelerate progress together
